Whidbey Island is 50 miles long and has close to 200 miles of Puget Sound shoreline. In the rain shadow of the Olympics, Whidbey Island gets less rain and more sunshine than Seattle. State parks include Deception Pass, Joseph Whidbey, Ft. Ebey, Ft. Casey, and South Whidbey. The historic town of Coupeville and the artistic community of Langley are popular tourist sites.
